The clothes had hit the runway, the models had done their final walk and the time had come to announce the winners. Janet Norman, the design executive of Foschini walked onto the stage ready to present some fresh design candidates with a little more wind for their ‘fashion sails’.
Three graduate designers were each awarded design internships at this major retailer to the value of R100 000.00. The three lucky designers awarded were Mia Kriek, Chelsea Wilson and Thoki Tafeni.
When asked about how they felt just after winning this awesome prize, they described a range of emotions including happiness, excitement and shock. With the help of this platform Thoki hopes to “build her fashion career”.
With opportunities like jobs and invaluable experiences in the fashion industry, these three creative minds can give themselves a pat on the back for work well done. We look forward to seeing them in the future on the catwalk with many more memorable fashion creations.
