PRESS RELEASE
9 November 2010
Elizabeth Galloway’s annual flagship fashion event, The Graduate Fashion Event 2010 is taking place at the Events Centre at Cape Quarter on Saturday, November 20 in aid of The Vulindlela Reading Club.
The Graduate Fashion Event 2010 will consist of three high-level fashion shows featuring 45 graduating fashion designers and using professional local and international models from countries including Brazil, France, Sweden and Holland. A fashion event of this nature captures the essence of the fashion world. Students have to design, make and fit garments on models as well as assist with preparations. The thrill of presenting their garments and taking to the catwalk with the models at the event ends the year on a rewarding note. By aligning with The Vulindlela Reading Club graduates help to raise awareness for a worthy cause to which they also contribute generously.
Elizabeth Galloway’s 2009 third year students showcased their graduate collections in aid of the Princess Project during MasterCard Style in the City at the V&A Waterfront on 1 November 2009. This is what Gavin Rajah (producer of the event) had to say of the show: “ I must say that it was by far the most organised student show we had and the best! I was really very impressed with the level of work and thought the students really excelled.”
A limited number of tickets are available for The Graduate Fashion Event 2010 at http://www.webtickets.co.za/event.aspx?itemid=2414690.
Shows are at 2pm, 4:30pm & 7pm. For information on Elizabeth Galloway’s full-time and part-time fashion design programme contact Martin Ras on 021-880-0775 or visit www.elizabethgalloway.co.za.
